Fellowship Requirements

  • Please read ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP on page 2 of the SEG Bylaws
  • Nominee should have a minimum of eight years of professional experience, including not less than five years of work principally devoted to economic geology, three of which must have been in positions of responsibility. Consideration will be given to work of an individual in research or as a teacher of economic geology.
  • Two SEG Fellows to serve as primary and secondary sponsors.

Application Process

  1. Application
    Submit your application, CV, and Publications List for consideration by the SEG Fellowship Committee.
    Application deadlines are January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31 of each year.
  2. Approval
    The names of all approved applicants will be published in the SEG Newsletter for consideration by all current SEG Fellows as required by SEG Bylaws. If there are no objections, your application will be submitted to the SEG Executive Committee.
  3. Review
    If approved by the SEG Executive Committee, you will be granted Fellowship and your name will be added to the list of new Fellows to be published in the next SEG Newsletter.
  4. Notification
    You will be officially notified of your acceptance as an SEG Fellow!

Application Deadlines and Timing

Application deadlines are January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31 of each year.

The application process can take 4 to 6 months.
