Stuart F. Simmons

Available lectures:

  1. The origin, flux, and fate of gold and related trace metals in active hydrothermal systems.
  2. Geological attributes of epithermal vein deposits and their relevance to exploration.
  3. The outbreak of hot springs, geysers, and hydrothermal eruptions in the aftermath of the 1886 volcanic eruption of Mt Tarawera.

Stuart F. Simmons is a consulting geologist who undertakes contract work in exploration, research and teaching of epithermal ore deposits and geothermal resources. He is formerly Director of the Geothermal Institute at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He has spent the last 25 years studying epithermal ore deposits and their modern-day counterparts in active geothermal systems of the circum Pacific region.
