The Geoscience Council of Namibia (GSCNam) was established to serve as a regulatory juristic body for geoscientists in Namibia. GSCNam works to promote the geoscience profession in Namibia and to ensure that geoscientists are fully engaged in the transformation of their profession; a profession that is increasingly relied upon by the public to provide expert opinion and service, and to safeguard the public interest.

The Geological Society of Namibia aims to promote the study of geosciences in Namibia and do all things conducive to the advancement of geological science. The Society hosts regular talks on geological topics from across the world and organizes field excursions to mines and geologically interesting sites across Namibia.
