The next Latin American Metallogeny Course SEG-SGA-UNESCO will be held in Cajamarca (Peru), organized by the Colegio de Ingenieros del Peru and the Universidad Nacional de Cajamarca. It is aimed at students and professionals involved in the geology of mineral deposits. Its objective is to strengthen the training and career development of students (with a minimum of four years of university studies) and young professionals through a scholarship program. The course will be held in the city of Cajamarca, Peru, and will focus on mineralization associated with magmatic-hydrothermal systems, incorporating representative case studies of deposits located in northern Peru.
Confirmed international instructors include David Cooke, John Dilles, Kalin Kouzmanov, David Rhys and Lisard Torro with Fernando Tornos and Israel Sangay acting as coordinators. The course includes field visits to Hualgayoc and Yanacocha and a core exhibition with drill core from Antamina, Colquemayo, Shahuindo, Cerro Corona, La Zanja and Antakori.
