Poster Presenter Details

Set up: Saturday, September 27, 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Tear down: Tuesday, September 30, 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Poster Presentations
Posters are assigned numbers and arranged by themes and can be viewed in the pocket program. Your poster will be on display at the conference center throughout the meeting, with a dedicated exhibit and poster session from 4:00 pm to 5:30 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2014. Authors are responsible for printing posters and bringing them to the Conference for presentation. Display boards (4 feet high x 8 feet wide; 1.2 meters x 2.4 meters) and tacks and velcro for affixing posters will be provided. Boards will be labeled with numbers from the pocket program.

What is the nearest major airport to Keystone?

Denver International Airport (DIA), Denver, CO is located 90 miles (145 km) to the east of Keystone; driving time is about 1 hour and 45 minutes in good conditions.

What airport transportation does SEG recommend?

Colorado Mountain Express (CME) has a counter right at DIA on the way to baggage claim and has offered a special fare each way to Keystone. Visit the hotel and shuttle page to make reservations.

Will Internet access be available at the conference venue?

Yes. All registered attendees will receive access for the duration of the conference.

What is the deadline for registration?

Early Registration: April 1 - August 1, 2014
Late Registration: August 2 - September 17, 2014
Onsite Registration: On or after September 26, 2014

Are some conference activities expected to sell out?

Yes, most field trips and workshops will sell out. For availability, refer to the Field Trips or Workshops pages.

What is the deadline for room reservations at Keystone?

August 29 is the deadline — after that room availability may be limited and may be at higher rates than the published conference rates.

May I wait and buy my dinner tickets at the meeting?

Because guarantees must be given to Keystone prior to the meeting, dinner tickets may not be on sale at the meeting. It is recommended you purchase tickets ahead of time (prior to September 17) if you plan to attend one of the dinners.

What is the appropriate attire for the conference?

Business casual.

What is happening every day at the conference?

What is the altitude of Keystone and the type of weather I can expect?

Keystone is a resort area at 9,280 ft (2,830 m) in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. This altitude can cause shortness of breath and you are advised to drink plenty of water. The weather is variable in late September and it can snow, so be sure to bring warm clothes — use layers that can be removed if it's warmer.

Check weather forecasts for both Denver and Keystone.

Can I buy a copy of SEG Special Publication No. 18 at the Conference?

Yes, but it will be more expensive. The advance registration rates provide a discount for early purchase (prior to September 19). However, copies will be available while supplies last at the SEG Exhibit Booth (#35) in the Exhibit Hall.

What comes with the Student Chapter Exhibit Stands?

The stands come with a 6-foot table, two chairs, a 4 foot (height) x 8 foot (width) poster board (sitting off the ground about 3 feet).

What is the purpose of the Student Chapter Exhibit Stands?

To promote SEG Student Chapters, to give student chapter members an opportunity to interact with one another as well as the SEG Conference attendees, and to display what activities the student chapter participates.

Can Student Chapter Exhibit Stands sell merchandise?

Yes, you may sell merchandise; however, you should collect Colorado taxes and make payment after the conference. This is a relatively easy process. For details on these arrangements, contact darline@qbsoffice.com.

Will electricity be available for the Student Chapter Exhibit stands?

Complimentary electricity is not available. You must make arrangements through Keystone for this service. The charges for electrical service (if needed) and the form to request it is available from darline@qbsoffice.com.

Is it required to have the Student Chapter exhibit stand manned at all times?

While it is encouraged to have a physical presence as often as possible, it is especially beneficial to your chapter to have at least one representative available to answer questions during breaks and lunches when you will see the highest amount of traffic by conference attendees.

Our University/Department has an exhibit booth in the exhibit hall; are we still eligible for a complimentary Student Chapter exhibit table?

Yes, as long as only Student Chapter information is displayed at the Student Chapter exhibit table.
