General FAQs
What security arrangements are in place for the conference?
Following meetings with the Director of Administrative Affairs for Sheraton and the Governor of Çeşme Province, we have been promised that they will coordinate our conference planning with the security directorate of Çeşme. The Governor also assured us that extra security support will be provided in and around the Sheraton Çeşme Hotel during the conference and any necessary security intelligence will be shared with us.

How do I pay online for registration and exhibiting?
If you use a payment card that does not support 3D Secure, review these instructions before registering. Please add the Conference Planner e-mail/domain to your safe sender list: bulten@congress.bultenmail.com.
If you are not able to pay by credit card or wire transfer, please contact Deniz Yildrim at seg2016@zed.com.tr for assistance including on-site payment.
What are the poster details?
Where: First level at the Sheraton Çeşme Hotel next to exhibits and coffee area
Set up: September 25, 2016, at 8:00 am
Tear down: September 28, 2016, at 7:00 pm
Details: Posters are assigned numbers according to last name (see program or ask at registration desk), corresponding to the numbered poster panels. Your poster will be viewed during coffee breaks and the dedicated poster session; please attend your poster at these times to interact with attendees.
Specifications: Authors are responsible for printing posters and bringing them to the conference. Each poster will be allocated a blank panel (portrait orientation). Dimensions: 95.5 cm (wide) x 211 cm (high). Materials for attaching posters to blank panels will be provided.
If for any reason you are unable to attend the presentation, please contact the Conference Organizer at seg2016@zed.com.tr.
A co-author may present the poster in your absence but they must be registered to attend the conference.
How do I apply for a Turkish visa?
All foreigners must obtain their Turkish visas from Turkish missions abroad or from the e-visa application system, depending on eligibility. If you are traveling for tourism or commerce for up to 90 days within a 180 day period, you can apply for a visa online at www.evisa.gov.tr or at any Turkish Embassy or Consulate.
What is the nearest major airport to Çeşme?
İzmir Adnan Menderes International Airport is located about 53.7 miles (86.5 km) to the east of the venue.
What airport transportation is recommended?

Will Internet access be available at the conference venue?
Yes. All registered attendees will receive access in the venue for the duration of the conference. Please check with your hotel regarding internet in your room.
What is the deadline for registration?

Are some conference activities expected to sell out?
Yes, we anticipate most activities will sell out. For availability, refer to the Field Trips, Short Courses, and Guest Activities pages. Preference will be given to SEG 2016 Conference registrants.

Is there funding available to attend this conference?

What should students do about hotel accommodations?
If an SEG Student Member receives travel support to attend the SEG 2016 Conference, they may also be eligible for shared accommodations support. Full details will be e-mailed to eligible students by May 31, 2016. Students who are not presenting an oral or poster presentation are not eligible for this support.
Will there be prizes for student presentations?
