Description

The Student Minerals Colloquium Committee is pleased to announce a new call for registration and abstract submission (due April 20) for the 2022 PDAC-SEG Student Minerals Colloquium (SMC).

For the first time in its history, the Colloquium will be a hybrid event, taking place in-person and online at the PDAC 2022 Convention. This event will now take place in Toronto, Canada, from June 13-15 (in-person) followed by an online event on June 28-29.

All students (BSc, MSc, PhD) working on projects linked to mineral deposits (e.g., mapping, mineralogy, geochemistry, geophysics, environmental, hydrogeology, etc.) are encouraged to participate!

Presenters will have the option to share their research with an audience of academics, students, and industry professionals either in-person, through poster format, or online, with a digital poster and short pre-recorded video presentation. In-person participation is limited to 100 posters and online participation to 50 posters.

The SMC attracts hundreds of industry participants attending the PDAC Convention, providing the broadest possible exposure for student research.

Posters are judged by a panel of academics and industry professionals, and thanks to our sponsors, cash prizes are awarded to winners in multiple categories. Judges will select six winners for the best online and in-person poster presentations at the BSc, MSc, and PhD levels.

Upon registration, details regarding the format and submission of print and digital posters and pre-recorded video presentations will be provided.
