ReSToRE 2 - International Summer School

Description

Our reliance on the Earth for water, energy, and minerals significantly affects climate change, economic prosperity, the environment, and human health and wellbeing. To decarbonise the global economy and deliver the Sustainable Development Goals, drastic changes are needed in how we utilise these Earth resources – for example, less use of fossil fuels, more renewable energy, infrastructural changes in energy production, transmission and storage, and an improved circular economy. As a result, the demand for so-called Critical Raw Materials will increase as they are essential for the technologies that will enable these changes. In this summer school, participants will discuss topics related to the key question: How do we decarbonise the global economy and deliver the Sustainable Development Goals in ways that balance the needs of present generations while ensuring that future generations also have access to and a sufficient supply of Earth resources?

We encourage all early-career academics and professionals who are interested in exploring these topics to apply to spend a week with us at the ReSToRE 2 summer school. You can find more information about ReSToRE and how to apply at this website. If you have any questions, please contact us at restore@icrag-centre.org
