The Agency for the Development and Innovation of the Brazilian Mining Sector (ADIMB) is pleased to announce the ninth edition of the Brazilian Symposium on Mineral Exploration, IX SIMEXMIN, to be held online on August 09 - 12, 2021.
The SIMEXMIN has been conceived to be a central forum to foster the interaction of industry professionals with the academia and government sectors in different fields related to mineral exploration and economic geology in Brazil. Experts from industry and academia from several parts of the world are also invited to contribute with cutting-edge talks on the understanding and exploration of mineral systems in different tectonic settings. Under this perspective, the IX SIMEXMIN program will cover a wealth of studies and contributions delivered by industry, academia and government experts, organized into thematic sessions, such as Main trends in the Brazilian Mining Sector, Mineral Commodity Market, Emergent Mineral Provinces in Brazil, Social and Environmental Sustainability in Exploration and Mining, Constraining Footprints in Mineral Systems, Mineral Resource and Reserve Declaration, Strategic Minerals and Agro-minerals, Geotechnologies applied to Mineral Exploration, Early and Advanced Stage Projects, and Geometallurgy. This program of live and streamed talks will be also complemented by poster presentations.
Early-career professionals together with graduate and undergraduate students involved in Economic Geology and Exploration will also find the IX SIMEXMIN an excellent environment for networking, particularly to bridge the gap between students and mid- to late-career professionals.
The IX SIMEXMIN will take place in a context of recent changes in the Brazilian mineral legislation together with other structural reforms in the mineral sector by the federal government aimed at making the country’s mineral industry more competitive under a sustainable social and environmental scenario. From this standpoint, the IX SIMEXMIN will also be the appropriate environment for the interaction between industry and government representatives to proactively discuss the future of mineral exploration and mining in Brazil.
The official language of the event is Portuguese but simultaneous translation will be available.
