SEG is hosting a free discussion series that will explore the emerging opportunities presented through critical minerals exploration and the evolving global energy transition. This series will provide students and early career geoscientists with an open forum for interaction with industry experts on relevant themes such as critical minerals demand, sustainable mining, and emerging career pathways within a changing industry. With the goal of creating a realistic view of the challenges and changes that are occurring as major industry transitions unfold concurrent with the global pandemic, these discussions are here to encourage and support attendees as they attempt to navigate these new waters.

Panelists will also provide examples of how their unusual personal paths have led them to find rewarding careers in the new energy economy, and what these pathways might look like in the future across several different sectors.
