Mapping Porphyry and Skarn Systems, Turkey

Industry professionals and students are invited to join an 8-day field mapping and core logging course in Ulutas, Turkey. This is a Tethyan porphyry/skarn system. Participants will learn different styles of mapping including Anaconda and the recommended "SGM Shotgun." Focus will be on lithological contacts, mineralizing phases, hydrothermal alteration, vein types, structural controls, favorable wall rocks and timing. Core logging will be conducted with graphical quick logs. There will be evening presentations on porphyry systems, with worldwide examples. Teaching in English, but leaders are fluent in Spanish. Turkish translation will be available. The event is recommended for students and early career industry professionals.
