Regional Vice President Lecturer

One or more Regional Vice President Lecturers shall be selected annually on the basis of widely recognized expertise in a field of economic geology. Lecturers shall give a series of lectures within the Society Regions in which the lecturers reside, and the lectureships shall alternate among the various Regions.

  Biography

Christina started as an undergraduate and MPhil at Northwest University, Xi'an, China. She went on to complete a Ph.D. in petrology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, and a second Ph.D. in geochemistry at the University of Hong Kong, China. Following a postdoc at Australia National University, she was employed as a research professor at the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. She has focused on the petrology and origin of mafic-ultramafic intrusions and related Ni-Cu-(platinum group element) sulfide deposits and Fe-Ti oxide deposits, such as those in the Emeishan large igneous province in southwestern China, the northern margin of the Yangtze block, the Central Asian orogenic belt, and many others. Over the years, she has published more than 150 papers and established an international reputation in petrology and economic geology.
