Student Support

Students are encouraged to submit an abstract to the SEG 2024 Conference. All SEG Student Members with accepted abstracts will receive free registration to the conference. If you have already registered to ensure your spot at a workshop or field trip, the fee for conference registration will be reimbursed.

Additional support in the form of travel grants may be available to cover a portion of your lodging and transportation. Amounts vary based on abstract quality and overall travel costs. Apply today to be considered for additional travel support. Notifications of awards and amounts will be provided June 28, 2024. If you have already submitted an application, please do not re-apply.

Application

SEG conferences rely on the support of volunteers to organize and host the activities during the event. Conferences offer volunteers the opportunity to interact with conference attendees, increase knowledge, and connect with professionals in the industry.

SEG 2024 will offer student volunteers complimentary registration to the conference which includes morning and afternoon breaks, lunches, and evening receptions. Volunteers will be assigned to shifts to support registration, technical sessions, speaker check-in, and other positions as needed. Volunteer shifts will total up to 8 hours in length, between September 27-30, 2024.

Application

Volunteers must be active SEG Student Members. Individuals should be comfortable standing for long periods of time and engaging with attendees. For additional information contact organizer@seg2024.org.

Volunteers can apply by completing the following form by Friday, June 28, 2024:

SEG will offer tables for SEG Student Chapters who are interested in displaying information about their chapters at SEG 2024. Tables will be on display at the conference venue throughout the event. One member of each chapter must be available to staff the table during exhibition hours. We may have limited space so please reserve a spot by submitting the registration form below by Friday, August 2, 2024. Please note, tables will be free of charge but registration fees will not be covered for those who staff the tables. For additional information contact organizer@seg2024.org.
