What are the poster details?

How do I apply for a United States visa?

Visa information for international attendees can be found on the visa information page.

Which international airport is nearest to the venue?

Denver International Airport (DEN) is located about 100 miles to the east of Keystone, Colorado.

What airport transportation is recommended?

Visit the shuttles section of the Hotel and Shuttle page.

Will Internet access be available at the conference venue?

Yes. All registered attendees will receive access in the venue for the duration of the conference.

What is the deadline for registration?

Please visit the registration page for current dates, pricing, and availability.

Are some conference activities expected to sell out?

Yes, we anticipate most field trips and short courses will sell out. For availability, refer to the field trips or workshops pages.

May I wait and buy my dinner tickets at the conference?

We strongly suggest that you purchase conference dinner tickets when you register for the conference. Final catering numbers are submitted a few weeks before the conference opens. Onsite dinner purchase requests may only be possible if there are cancellations.

What is the appropriate attire for the conference?

Business casual.

What is the altitude of Keystone and the type of weather I can expect?

Keystone is located in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and has an elevation of 9,280 feet above sea level. If you are not accustomed to a high altitude, you can experience shortness of breath, fatigue, and tiredness. You are advised to drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activities until you acclimatize. The weather is variable in late September and it can snow, so be sure to bring layers for varying temperatures.

Recreational marijuana?

Marijuana is legal in Colorado but still prohibited by federal law. It is your responsibility to understand and follow the law during your visit. Learn more at the City of Denver's official information site: www.MarijuanaInfoDenver.org

Student FAQs

When will abstracts be formally accepted?

Abstracts will be reviewed immediately after the submission deadline passes and acceptance letters e-mailed by May 15, 2018

Is their funding available to attend this conference?

Visit the "Student Support" student support section of the submit an abstract page.

What should students do about hotel accommodations?

If an SEG Student Member receives travel support to attend the SEG 2018 Conference, they may also be eligible for shared accommodations support. Full details will be e-mailed to eligible students by May 31, 2018. Students who are not presenting an oral or poster presentation are not eligible for this support.

Student Chapter Exhibit Booth FAQs

What is included?

Each stand includes:

  • One (1) 6-foot table
  • Two (2) chairs
  • One (1) 4-foot high x 8-foot wide poster board, sitting 3 feet off the ground, to be displayed from behind the booth

What is the purpose?

To promote SEG Student Chapters, to give chapter members an opportunity to interact with one another and conference attendees, and to display activities the chapter participates in.

Can we sell merchandise?

Yes. However, you should collect Colorado taxes and make payment after the conference. This is a relatively easy process. For details, contact Kathy Basel, Conference Organizer, at kathybasel@gmail.com.

Will electricity be available?

Complimentary electricity is not available. If you require electrical services, contact Kathy Basel, Conference Organizer, at kathybasel@gmail.com for pricing and forms.

Is it required to have the booth manned at all times?

While it is encouraged to have a physical presence as often as possible, it is especially beneficial for your chapter to have at least one representative available to answer questions during breaks and lunches when you will see the highest amount of traffic by conference attendees.

Our university/department has already purchased an exhibit booth; are we still eligible for a complimentary booth?

Yes, as long as only SEG Student Chapter information is displayed at complimentary booth.

Do you have recommendations for childcare in the area?

Is there private space available for mothers?

Yes. For the convenience of our traveling mothers, we have set up a Mother's Room in the Conference Service Office in the Business Center during conference hours. There will be a person at the front desk in this office who will direct you to the room. It will have a refrigerator and sanitizing wipes for your use.
