Whistler is on!

For the first time ever, our annual conference will be hybrid, with content delivered through an engaging online platform that provides a balance between cutting edge technical sessions and networking, and an in-person component in Whistler, BC.

Thanks to the re-opening of Canada's border to US citizens on August 91, and to the anticipated opening to international travelers on September 72, the SEG 100 Organizing Committee has made the decision to welcome participants to attend the SEG 100 Conference in person in Whistler, British Columbia3.

SEG is committed to the safety and well-being of all in person participants and will be adhering to the BC Centre for Diseases Control (BCCDC) and the Government of BC health rules and regulations that are in place at the time of the conference.

To attend in-person at the SEG 100 Conference, all individuals must be fully vaccinated with a Canadian government approved vaccine. By order of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), proof of vaccination will be required as of September 13, 2021, to access the Whistler Conference Centre, events, restaurants, and some services and businesses. For the most up to date information, visit https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/proof.

For additional COVID-19 information and resources for travelers coming to Whistler, visit www.whistler.com/covid.

What will the in-person experience look like?

We expect to live-stream selected in-person presentations and engage in informal discussion sessions. Virtual talks will be viewed on the big screen in the Whistler Conference Centre meeting rooms. In-person attendees will access the online conference for speed talks and other online events on their personal devices. The exhibit hall will host refreshment breaks, lunches, happy hours, and other social functions.

We encourage anyone who is able to travel to come to Whistler, with the understanding that for many participants this option will not be possible. The complete virtual conference remains as planned with all presentations, the MASH zone, special early career programs, virtual exhibit booths, and social events. We are excited to trial this hybrid conference format, recognizing that connecting the online community to SEG annual meetings in the future will be a priority.
