The Role of Resource and Reserve Classification and Reporting in Financing the Supply of Critical Minerals
Description
This workshop will provide an overview of the different systems which have developed for the classification and reporting of mineral resources and mineral reserves. The difference between the CRIRSCO (Committee for Mineral Reserves International Reporting Standards) reporting codes and standards which are used for Stock Market disclosure by listed companies and the UNFC (United Nations Framework Classification) based systems which are designed to support governmental strategic planning and non-governmental organizations will be discussed and explained.
The primary focus will be on the CRIRSCO reporting requirements, given that most exploration and mining projects are financed via equity capital or debt and as such shareholders and investors require a return on their invested capital. An overview of how mineral projects are viewed from an investor perspective, including what investors are looking for in a project and which projects and exploration programmes may be attractive to investors, will be provided.
Case study examples of mineral resource and mineral reserve reporting for several critical mineral deposits will be included, together with an investor's perspective on project progression from exploration through to feasibility and development, with some examples of fund raising for companies working on critical minerals. An overview will also be provided with respect to the consideration of ESG and sustainability aspects in the context of minerals reporting.
Attendees will receive certificates of participation. View all workshops.
