Registration information including fees for virtual registration and workshops, and general conference information is below. Please review this material carefully and, as you make decisions about which events you plan to register for, be sure that times and dates do not conflict. Some workshops, for example, are scheduled during the same time slots. After reviewing, click the appropriate "Register" button below to proceed with registration.

Virtual conference registration

Conference policies

Payment policy

Payment is due within 7 days. If you are registering within 30 days of the conference, payment is due now. If transferring money internationally please ensure that you add the international transaction fee to your payment. Accounts that are not paid before the conference will incur a $100 processing fee.

Confirmations and tax invoices

A tax invoice/confirmation will be e-mailed once your registration has been processed. All prices are quoted in United States dollars (USD).

Registration cancellation policy

For the conference and workshops, cancellations that are notified in writing by August 31, 2021, will be eligible for a refund less 25%. Cancellations notified after this date will not be eligible for any refund, however another person may participate in your place. Contact jeffdoyle@segweb.org

Insurance

The registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. Participants are advised, if applicable, to take out personal insurance, including coverage for travel, accommodation, and personal possessions. Neither the Organizing Committee nor Conference Organizer covers individuals against the cancellations of bookings for any reason including cancellation or postponement of the conference or for theft or damage to belongings.

It is the responsibility of each registrant to acquire all necessary travel documents to attend the conference and activities, if applicable.

Conference cancellation or postponement

The members of the Organizing Committee and Conference Organizer do not accept any liability for losses incurred in the event of the conference being cancelled or postponed due to an unforeseen event or any other event that renders performance of this conference inadvisable, illegal, impracticable, or impossible. An unforeseen event shall include, but shall not be limited to: an Act of God; infectious disease outbreak, industrial disruptions, service provider failures, governmental restrictions and/or regulations; war or apparent act of war; terrorism or apparent act of terrorism; disaster; civil disorder, disturbance, and/or riots; curtailment, suspension, and/or restriction on transportation; or any other emergency.

In the event the conference is cancelled no refunds will be issued. All available funds, after cancellation expenses, will be credited towards a future conference held by the hosting organization.

Privacy

SEG does not share nor sell our member, attendee, or exhibitor information for commercial purposes. If you are contacted by someone attempting to sell you this information, please contact the conference organizer at seg100@seatoskymeetings.com.

SEG events code of conduct

All registrants, guests, volunteers, exhibitors, SEG staff, service providers, and others in attendance are expected to abide by this SEG Events Code of Conduct.

Expected behavior

  • Be respectful, considerate, collegial, and collaborative.
  • Communicate in a civil manner, critiquing ideas rather than individuals.
  • Avoid personal attacks directed toward others in attendance.
  • Alert SEG staff or SEG leadership if you notice anyone in distress, or detect a dangerous, or potentially dangerous, situation.

Unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to:

  • Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or threatening actions.
  • Physical or verbal abuse of any attendee.
  • Disruption of any presentations.
  • Audio/video recording of any presentations without permission from SEG.
  • Inappropriate use of sexual images in public spaces or in presentations.

Consequences of unacceptable behavior

  • Anyone requested to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to immediately cease and desist.
  • Actions may include immediate removal from the virtual platform without warning or refund.
  • SEG reserves the right to prohibit participation by offenders at any future SEG meeting or other SEG-sponsored event.

Reporting unacceptable behavior

If you are subject to unacceptable behavior or have witnessed any such behavior, please immediately notify an SEG staff member or SEG member with a designated leadership or organizational position.

Copyright assignment

All authors assign and transfer the copyright and all of its rights and privileges to the Society of Economic Geologists, Inc. (SEG) for publication via all media, including print and electronic, worldwide, today and in the future. All authors represent they have the right to grant such permission based on copyright law, and the use of third-party material has been cleared for the purposes as set out. Authors retain the right to reprint this work without requesting permission from SEG.

Authors whose presentations are accepted will be required to register for the SEG 100 Conference no later than August 31, 2021.
