of Ore-Forming Hydrothermal Systems: A Summary and Discussion of the Contents of SEG Reviews Volume 21
Hosted by: Julie Rowland and Dave Rhys
Date: Thursday, June 2, 2022
Time: 1:00pm - 3:30pm MDT (UTC-6)
Location: Online using Zoom
Description
The structural geology and tectonic setting of hydrothermal deposits are critical for understanding the genesis of the orebody and are fundamental to exploration. However, the important role that structure plays is frequently missing or underemphasized in literature. This is emphasized by the success of SEG Reviews, Volume 14, Structural Controls on Ore Genesis, which included several seminal review papers, but that volume was published over 20 years ago.
With the ongoing need for resources for working geologists and researchers who are tasked with applying concepts of structural geology to mineral exploration, volume editors Julie Rowland and Dave Rhys developed a volume that spans theory and practice across mineral deposit types at a variety of scales. Sponsored by Alamos Gold Inc., B2 Gold Corp., Coeur Mining, Inc., Integra Resources, Kinross, and OceanaGold, this Reviews in Economic Geology volume consists of nine chapters, focusing on ore-forming hydrothermal deposits and drawing on the expertise of top practitioners from around the globe.
This free webinar will provide an overview of the volume, hosted by editors Julie Rowland and Dave Rhys, with pre-recorded mini lectures by key authors followed by a live discussion with the editors and authors.
A 20% discount code valid for a one-time purchase of Reviews, Volume 21, Applied Structural Geology, will be provided to attendees during the live event.
